How we earn
As an Amazon Associate, PurityMap earns from qualifying purchases made through product links. This funds the data work at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are marked rel="nofollow sponsored".
Recommendations follow the findings — never the reverse
The recommendation engine first assesses each published finding into a tier (required capability, precaution, aesthetic preference, or no treatment indicated). Only then does it match a documented concern to products with a verified certification claim — a specific NSF/ANSI standard covering that specific contaminant. A commercial offer is looked up after eligibility is decided and can only attach a link; it can never add, remove, or reorder a product. This is enforced in code and covered by automated tests.
No pay-to-rank
Water systems, cities, and rankings are ordered by their data and a published, reproducible contract — never by any commercial relationship. Inclusion in a recommendation is evidence-based, not paid placement. If no eligible product covers a health finding, the page says so rather than substituting a product that doesn't.
What certification does and doesn't mean
A certification means a specific model was tested to a specific standard for a specific claim — not that it makes water "safe." We name the standard and what it covers, and we tell you to confirm the exact model in the official NSF, WQA, or IAPMO registry before you buy.
Independence you can check
Read the methodology and data sources to see the inputs, or submit a correction if you spot a product recommended for a concern the data doesn't support.
